After staying at the Sheraton Keystone Indianapolis last year, I wanted to share my experience, especially since I really enjoyed the hotel’s location.

Background

After a couple of winter storms and schedule changes, this short one-night trip finally began. My family had a few things to take care of in Indianapolis, and I decided to join them, so they handled the booking. They chose to stay at the Sheraton at Keystone Crossing. The Sheraton brand is part of Marriott and, therefore, part of the Marriott Bonvoy program.

Stay

We arrived close to midnight, and my mom handled the check-in. The front desk thanked her for her loyalty status and informed her that, due to the late hour, the valet had already left for the day. However, they let us know that self-parking was the only option available.

The parking garage is a short, 5-minute walk from the hotel, and it’s detached from the building. Please note that there is a charge for parking, and you can find the latest parking information on their website.

Room

Our room was on the fifth floor. Upon entering, we were greeted with the closet on the right and the bathroom on the left.

Straight ahead, there was an interesting lighting feature in the entryway.

The room itself was quite spacious, featuring two double beds.

The TV stand also doubled as a desk, which is always a nice bonus, as many hotel rooms unfortunately lack a proper desk.

One of my pet peeves is when hotel rooms don’t include stationery—something I call the “notepad test.” I was happy to see the hotel passed with flying colors.

The room also came with a fridge and the usual amenities you’d expect at this standard.

Additionally, there were two complimentary water bottles. I forgot to ask, but I believe the first one is free, with the second one costing $5.

The view outside wasn’t bad, either (see the photo I took the next morning).

The bathroom had a few dated fixtures but was more than adequate for a one-night stay.

I also noticed that, like many hotels now, they use larger shampoo bottles, which they claim is more environmentally friendly, though I suspect it’s also a cost-saving measure. What do you think? Do you prefer the small bottles that you can take home, or the larger ones?

I slept very well on the bed after a long day. The next morning, I decided to explore the hotel.

Location

The lobby, located on the ground floor, includes a café, a business center, the front desk, and more.

There were also several events happening during my stay, including a sales conference.

Now you might be wondering what I’m doing on the second floor

After a short walk, you can enter the Keystone Crossing Fashion Mall directly, which is the hotel’s main selling point.

To get to the skybridge, you need to pass through the building housing apartments, which is attached to the hotel. The walk takes about 5-10 minutes, and it’s completely indoors, making it a nice option to avoid the weather.

The skybridge connects to some shops and restaurants, providing shelter from both Indiana’s cold winters and hot summers

The mall connected to the skybridge is livelier than most, though it has seen some closures, including department stores like Saks Fifth Avenue. Simon, the company that owns the mall (and is based in Indianapolis), plans to redevelop that space. The other side of the mall is more vibrant, with plenty of shops and dining options.

After taking some photos for this post, I made my way back to the hotel through the same convenient skybridge.

Conclusion

Overall, I found the Sheraton Keystone to be a great choice for a short stay. Its proximity to the mall is ideal—after a busy day of traveling, you won’t have to go far for food or shopping. The hotel often takes advantage of this great location, which can make it a bit pricey. However, depending on the season, you can find good deals.

I hope you enjoyed this hotel review!
